Educator & Innovator
Simon McCullough
With a foundation in international education, I am committed to continually developing my pedagogical practice and learning from the diverse environments I have worked in across Europe and Asia. My experiences have shaped an open-minded and reflective approach, where I value creativity, collaboration, and adapting teaching to meet the needs of every child.
I take a thoughtful approach to curriculum development, exploring how areas such as literacy, music, technology, and play-based learning can come together to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences. I am particularly interested in designing environments that encourage independence, curiosity, and confidence in young learners.
Growing up, I balanced working two jobs—retail at M&S during the day and bar work in the evenings—while continuing to focus on my musical education. During this time, I was incredibly fortunate to be supported by Mrs Sheila Fawcett, whose dedication, encouragement, and ‘can-do’ attitude had a lasting impact on me. Through her guidance in music theory and performance, she not only developed my skills but also instilled a belief in persistence and self-improvement that continues to shape my approach to both teaching and life.
Alongside my work in education, I bring a creative and entrepreneurial mindset, always exploring ways to innovate, develop new ideas, and improve systems in meaningful ways. I am driven by a desire to build, create, and continuously evolve, whether through curriculum design, digital learning, or wider projects, while contributing positively to the communities I am part of.
