James Simon Music

James Simon is the music production project of Simon McCullough, exploring electronic music composition and sound design. The project began in the summer of 2025 as a creative outlet and personal passion, allowing Simon to experiment with new musical styles while continuing his lifelong connection to music. His debut release, “Broken Dreams”, launched in August 2025 and quickly gained attention online, reaching over 20,000 views on YouTube and 7,500 streams on Spotify. This was followed by “Glitter & Guilt”, released in September 2025, which achieved more than 21,000 views on YouTube and 15,000 combined streams across Spotify and iTunes. Simon is currently developing a Thai-inspired deep house and trance album, drawing inspiration from the culture, atmosphere, and locations he has experienced while living in Thailand. The project aims to capture the unique energy of these places through ambient recordings, rhythmic textures, and melodic production. The track “Kamala Beach”, inspired by the coastal atmosphere of Phuket, became the first release from the project to appear on iTunes in 2026. Working mainly during weekends and spare time, Simon enjoys collecting environmental sounds and musical ideas before bringing them into the studio to shape new compositions. The James Simon project continues to grow as a creative space where music, atmosphere, and personal experiences come together in electronic form.
